Keyless push to start is nothing new to me but I feel the Prius takes some time until the green light turns on for me to turn on the car. Other cars I've used, as soon as I push down the brakes the light turns on. On the Prius I have to give it about 15-20 seconds until it turns on. Is that just a Prius thing or am I doing something wrong?

You don't have to wait for a green light. Just press down on the brake and push start.

Hmm I would have said 1.5 seconds to 2 seconds after you pressed Start was long to be Ready. A 2015 almost HAS to be under warranty, so I would see a dealer

yes, something is wrong. foot on brake, push start, put in drive and go. 2-3 seconds total.

the light on the button should turn green as soon as you push it, and the 'ready' light should light up.

I find sometimes I move too fast for the car. Try putting it in reverse and nothing happens. Oops.. car wasn't ready yet..

That does sound strange. On my 2011, the small green light in the button comes on shortly, maybe one second, after I press the brake, which I assume is normal behavior. Is that what takes 15-20 seconds for yours?

Till it turns on or till the engine starts?

The important event is the Ready light coming on! The ICE only comes on when needed, and often (especially if the ICE is already warm) I find that the car is ready to go, and the ICE has not started (…the System says "…no need!", obviously!) - hope this helps ;)

Just tested it again. Unlocked car, sat down, foot on brake, took 25 seconds (used stop watch) until the green light turns on for it to get to the Ready position. To bypass this I sometimes press the start button three times to speed things up a bit bringing it from OFF > ACC > ON > READY

I find button push starts the boot up more or less instantly, and in 3~4 seconds I'm able to shift to reverse.

Sounds about right to me! (To the OP:) Sounds like there might be a problem if the delay is as long as you say it is… Keep us posted…

Brand new car could have bad 12 volt, from sitting too long on dealership lot. Best is when they're totally dead, no discussion.

We're all confused by now. Do you mean the tiny green light in the button takes 25 seconds to come on after you press the brake pedal? If so, that isn't normal. The time from pressing the button until the "READY" light appears is a separate issue, but it should be a lot less than 25 seconds, too.

    i just checked mine.

    1) when i open the driver door, the power button lights up, but not the green rectangle on it.

    2) when i step on the brake, the green rectangle on the power button lights up.

    3) when i press the power button, the green rectangle goes out, and the ready light lights up.

I'm completely lost at what OP is describing. I sit down, press on the brakes and push start. I don't wait for any light to come on. Shift and go.
