Question for anyone that has some advice on this matter. I've just totaled my PIP that has the Green Sticker. I am in CA. Talked to the insurance company (Travelers) to see if the HOV sticker is of any value since I can't just buy another PHEV vehicle as the green stickers are gone now. Would anyone know if there is any compensation value for the Green sticker by any chance?

AS for replacement, I guess that I would either look at used PIP w/ the sticker or go full electric.

    Thanks in advance for answering.

I don't think you can sell the stickers, as the stickers don't transfer unless you sell the car. .But if it is going to be salvaged, you I believe you have 6 months to buy another qualifying car and ask for a transfer of the sticker to the new car. *EDIT* I seem to clearly recall reading about this, but I can seem to find it now.

BTW: Front end damage or rear end? I am looking for passenger side tail light assembly for cheap (not sure if the Insurance will allow you to "salvage" parts from the totaled car).

"28. Q: My Enhanced AT PZEV/TZEV vehicle was issued green CAV decals, but it was declared a total loss salvage or non-repairable. I bought another qualifying vehicle as a replacement. Can I obtain green CAV decals for the replacement vehicle?

A: Yes. However, the owner must file an application for replacement CAV decals within six months of the original vehicle's total loss/salvage or non-repairable reported "wrecked" date. The registered owner of the original and qualifying replacement vehicle must be the same person."

(Heresy here) You could put the replacement stickers on a '16 Volt.

If you could get a 2016 Volt within 6 months and slap stickers on it, you could possibly sell it for quite a premium, or just have that unique one (of 2 possibly) haha.

    Glad you are OK.

Too bad you didn't total your car next year, so you could get an updated PiP. Same here. I totalled my Gen II Prius 3 months ago (or rather someone else totalled it when they ran into me). I had been holding onto my 2004 for two reasons:

    1) To upgrade in 2016 (or perhaps a bit later) with one of the new models.
    2) To join the 100000 mile club. ;) Missed it just by a hair. I was just under 160000 km.

Actually, _quite_ happy with the 2014 PiP, and very happy I only put gas in after (over) 500 miles. I _suspect_ the PiP will still have total range advantage over the Volt.
