And this is a major PITA when I gave to constantly be struggling trying to twist them back straight between rides. Anyway have an idea to keep these darn things on place ?

In my last car, I had Weather Techs, and the rear was one piece that went over the hump. I sure wish these did. I'm about ready to order at least a new one piece rear floor mat, if I can't keep these from twisting and getting kicked around...

Are they genuine TOYOTA? Mine came with the car and stay put perfectly - even with children mostly in the rear.

the issue is rideshare. you're going to have to permanently secure them, or buy the kind with carpet tacks on the bottom.
mine move around, but i rarely have rear passengers

I know your right. Total PITA, but I appreciate there $$$

Just trying to figure out a good, clean way to secure them.

A couple of fat velcro (hook side) strips on the bottom surface of the mats should do fine.

You might need to prep them to remove any mold-release compound; it’ll prevent many adhesives (like the velcro backing) from sticking. Usually warm soap & water does it.

Yap, if you actually have rear passengers sitting there any substantial time, those floor mats do not stay put. I almost never use rear seats but still, the floor mats move around by occasionally placing my bags and other stuff. Putting velcro tape may work. But for a long term solution, your best bet is to replace them with one piece of construction like Weathertech. That's what I had to do with my Gen3 when I was still using the rear seats occasionally.

Yep..... I've had two sets of Weathertechs in other vehicles and they worked great and stayed o
Put.... Biggest reason though, was because the backs were one long piece that covered the center hump....

The problem there is that the backs are covered with those little spikes that I get are supposed to seat down onto the carpet....

gotcha, they’ve already got a traction solution but it isn’t working.

Yeah, just get the big 1-piece. My wife got one for ours. We probably only occupy the back seat 3-4 times a month, certainly less than a rideshare grind car but it’s been great. It’s a weathertech, and the fit seems much more precise than the ones for the front.

I have two sets of mats, Toyota ones and an aftermarket set off Ebay. In both sets, the rear mats are a very snug fit and can't move at all, are you sure you have the correct rears, are yours a snug fit ?

OEM mats are very snug fit, it is not the shape or size that is the problem. Since they have no hook or snap like the driver side mat, If someone is sitting on the seat with their feet on the floor, the mat tend to slide very easily. OEM rear mats are more prone to this problem since they are smaller and there are no walls in front and one side of them. The exactly the same thing happened on my Gen3 OEM mats and current PRIME OEM mats. In fact, even the exact fit front passenger side floor mat is also prone to movement. It has no hook on it. Every time someone sit on the passenger seat, the mat shift forward creating a gap at the rear end of the mat,.

I agree. Order the weathertechs. The fronts are perfect and easy to clean, but i have struggled with the rear like you, until I put the one piece rear weathertech floormats. then put the original mats on top of them. Since the original ones fit in the mold of the weathertechs they stop getting moved when you push your seat back.

Well, since you said this, I went on and threw the factory rubber ones in the back on top of the one piece Weathertech... I was only about a minute away from leaving them by the trash can at the waiting lot, but if they will stay put better now, I will keep them I guess. Thank you
