    There are times when my mind drifts or I am not paying attention and I nearly go through a red light. I usually skid to a brake as my passenger yells "it's red!" This has happened to me maybe only 3 times in my whole life and it's completely accidental.

    This does not seem to be the case though, since the van was going slow and cautiously through the red. Premeditated for sure.

    What if they just thought, oh it's a stop sign. I know I've done that by accident before.
