Regular household ext cord?

    I know that there are going to be the "standard" plug in ports for all electric vehicles.. but is possible to just run your extension cord and plug your PHV right into your regular wall socket???

    Yes. The adapter that they are using for the Prius PHV will let you do that. Plus there are adapters that you can get to go from 110 or 220 to the J1772 plug and adapters to go the other way around for the people that converted their car to EV and dont have a J1772 port on their car.
