I need to replace one of the bulbs over the rear license plate. In order to access where the bulb is, the instruction manual simply says "Remove the cover". I have looked, all over the rear cover and can find nothing to pry/unscrew/yank/rip off with brute force. How do you remove the rear cover?

    Thanks in advance

Wear gloves (the edges are sharp) and yank it out. It's held by several clips.

The risk here is in breaking the clip holders. A combo of prying with the proper tool, and yanking is the answer. When I finally got mine off, I cut all the sharp edges off with a utility knife. Then I lubricated the plastic clips before reinstalling. WAY easier to get off now. That first time is a real b!tch.

Make sure you remove all the retaining clips from the holes in the metal hatch, where they probably stayed, and put them on to the tabs of the plastic trim before you try to reinstall the trim pieces. Otherwise, you will most likely push the retaining clips inside the hatch, where accessing them will require considerable luck and much cussing.
