I currently have a 2008 Prius I've owned for about 5 years. It has served me well for 150k+ miles(265k+ total), but I think it's reached end of life. The issues have been piling on over the past year.

I'm inclined toward replacing it with another Gen 2 with far less miles.

What price and odo reading would be a good balance?

What inspections self done and paid would be recommended?

I replaced the hybrid battery with OEM new about 80k miles and 2.5 years ago. Would it be worth paying to have it moved to the new vehicle?

Any other considerations I haven't thought of?

    welcome!

the newer the better, tradeoff with higher miles. depending on what you find, it may be worth swapping batteries.

best to reset the mpg's and take it for a good long test drive to see what she returns.

    2008 was a beast, i wouldn't hesitate to get another, or 2009.

you definitely want to know ownership, accident and service history.

i think the 2 most common issues are brake actuator and combo meter. a/c compressor might be another.
oil burning usually comes with higher miles.

    all the best!(y)

If you do get another Prius it would be a good idea to swap the battery before selling the old one. 2 1/2 years is pretty new.
