    Again, newbie here. Question: Aside from the very limited and somewhat deceptive Carfax report, where would you look to get information about recalls compliance and other important information about your used Prius? I would like to know the history of my Prius as much as possible. Thanks for reading.

    Don't underestimate the power of a lift and a flashlight and a good visual inspection.

    I was looking at a used 2010 once with a "TOTALLY CLEAN CARFAX!!1!" that turned out, on the lift, to have the frame rails under the floor pan bashed all to heck, a bunch of recently replaced underbody panels, a non-Toyota hood, heavily gunked-on new undercoating all over the suspension members where chain marks from a frame rack might have been left, and traces of paint overspray along the window belt moldings, etc., pretty much the length of the car.

    The seller just kept waving the "CLEAN CARFAX!!!1!" in my face and claimed to have no idea of any damage, so I let him sell it to somebody else.
