How to reset oil change flashing light on 2006 Canadian G11:confused:.I tried what is said in the manual, but still flashes for about 12 sec. Apparently it will stay on steady if not reset soon? I go to ignition on only and hold odometer down for 5 sec.. It does not reset. Help!!! Hal

Hold the ODO button down and push the Start button to go into READY. Continue to hold the ODO button down. The odometer will change to all dashes and slowly go out one ant a time. Then the odometer will display the correct odometer reading. Now you can release the ODO button and the Maint. Req. light will be off until the next time an oil change is needed (about 5000 miles).

I didn't think we Canadians got the maintenance light... pretty sure I don't have it... at least I've never seen it.

I think it is a red oil pitcher with a wrench on it. The car is not here at the moment, so I'm only saying this from memory, so I hope I described it correctly?Hal

Pardon me, the flashing light is a red car with a wrench on it. Hal

How about posting a photo? I also do not believe that Canadian vehicles have the MAINT REQD light (which is driven by the 5K mile odometer timer.)

I cannot find a picture of it in the manual. I have never posted a picture before. I will try and figure how to do this. Hal

I know my 08 does not give any indications when it's time to change the oil. I thought it did but I did the last oil change myself at the 8,000 km interval mark. No indication, and I've driven another 2,000 km since then.
