Ok, so we've had the 08 for 2 weeks now (1400 miles) and here are the numbers:

    92% Hwy
    8% City

of the 92% highway I will be cruising at 70-75 mph for 40 miles, the other 20 miles are between 10-40mph.

    AVG MPG: 46.8

Now, of course if I were responsible and thrifty I would obey the speed limit and probably get that closer to 50 mpg but I'm not that guy. Overall I'm impressed by the gas mileage and the overall comfort of the car.

Now pump your tires to 42psi front / 40 back & get yourself to 50 mpg!

how about that, get stuck in a massive traffic jam and actually got it up to 47mpg. Funny how a traffic jam makes me happy now :)

Also, I should disclose that I am not a pedal to the metal kind of guy, more like a feathering the accelerator type. I just drive fast.

ok, so I kind of slacked off today, I was going to pull the car into the garage and pump up the pressure in the tires but I didn't get to it. I have Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max (185/65/R15) on the car. Max pressure stated is 51 psi. So, 42/40 or should I go a bit higher? 95% of my driving is highway

That would be Miles per UK Gallon right irishprius?

BTW. 47 MPG_UK is only about 39 MPG_US. But you'll definitely get a lot better MPG for slower trips with less freeway driving.
