Now that I've finally deleted my rear wiper arm, I thought it would be a good idea to make use of the now-superfluous wires to the motor, and add a rear camera that I can activate via the wiper stalk, instead of only getting the rear view when I put the car into reverse.

So, the camera has 2 wires that ordinarily would have to be tapped to the reverse light's positive and negative wires, so I thought that maybe the rear wiper harness would also have similar wires that I can tap into as well.

During my trial and error, I used a multimeter and managed to accidentally trigger the wiper fluid with the black lead on the black/white harness wire and the red lead on the blue harness wire. In any case, I didn't know what I was doing and/or what the multimeter might have been able to tell me about the wires, so that experiment was over.

On the harness there are a total of 5 wires/slots, and in the end, I tried all possible combinations (including connecting to the blue wire, which didn't trigger any wiper fluid), but still the monitor wouldn't display the rear view.

Am I doing something wrong here, is my assumption about the negative and positive wires on the wiper motor harness flawed, do I need to jump some of the wires on the harness, etc.? What voltage is being put out to the reverse lights, maybe the motor receives less power in comparison?

Here are the prints for front and rear wipers/washers to help you, but most installers do not use the method your trying. Would suggest you rethink this one and use the conventional.

Thanks... feel so silly, didn't have all the required pieces at the time, managed to figure it out after putting them together
