I’ve been researching and studying as much as I can before getting my hands dirty replacing the ABS Actuator Assembly on my 2006 Prius. I purchased a used, revised module, part number 44510-47051. I ordered an Autel MaxiAP200 preemptively and am currently going over the bleed procedure; I seem to have a few options which I’ll outline below: Option 1: Autel Initially, it seemed as if I could use the scanner I purchased to complete the bleed routine; actuator reinstalled, door open, pump helps push out air, then use auto bleed function, then manual bleed - should be good. With more research, I’m concerned that this will mechanically fix the brakes, but result in these codes: “C1345 and C1368“ These codes seem to appear when the Linear Valve Offset is not performed; This can be done via Techstream, or some aftermarket scanners can do the same. Option 2: Steam Deck Techstream Due to the aforementioned concerns, I have considered installing WinDeckOS (Custom windows 11 image) onto the deck, dual booting into it, and running a obdii365 blog Techstream launcher on it, then using a mini VCI cable, running the software. with this approach, I am concerned with compatibility. I have seen 2 videos doing this already, as in, they show a Steam deck diagnosing with Techstream. Why a steam deck? It’s all I have. With compatibility issues in mind, it may be more worthwhile to avoid mini vci costs and headaches, and to just opt for option 3; Option 3: ThinkDiag 2 I have read in some threads that this scanner can perform the LVO needed. I have questions though; does the original Bluetooth model work? Can this reset the valve values so that the LVO works? it appears that using option 3 may yield the most trustworthy results. Does anyone have experience or feedback? Guidance would be much appreciated additional concerns: Tech manuals specify torque for brake line connectors; videos and guides do not; how important is this torque, both for mounting the actuator and then the brake lines as mentioned - I found torque specs on a Toyota repair manual I downloaded. is there a way to check mileage or condition of the revised part? does anyone want an autel?
