    It seems to be customary to depart a toll booth as quickly as possible as a means of jockeying position to get in front of the a-hole that was dawdling in front of you prior to your arrival. ;)

    Seriously, I'm not sure I get it either.

    I guess they have to beat the other cars from different gates as all are merged into one to two lanes.
