yes, there's no relationship between maintenance and warranty. warranties cover factory defects, not early wear and tear

It was a coupon book they gave us at the time we bought our car new in 2020, it had coupons to cover all the cost of the routine maintenance for so long, we were able to pay a little extra and get a book that covered routine maintenance cost a nice bit longer.

Don't remember if that was just an incentive they had back then when buying a new car or still do now.

Okay, just did a search and found this as far as Toyota Care as it is now - Maintenance Plans | Toyota Owners - Maintenance Plans | Toyota Owners

As far as finding individual coupons I found this - Toyota Service Coupons | Parts & Service Deals

It's been a while since we had to pay out of pocket for the normal routine maintenance, not sure offhand how much longer our extended coupon book covers, will have to look at it, for when our coupon book runs out I looked at that Toyota Care link I clicked on something and read:

Toyota Service Care * plans last for two years and unlimited miles. Coverage starts immediately once purchased and can be renewed again and again to continue your benefits. Can be purchased if vehicle is no longer eligible for ToyotaCare or any other prepaid maintenance plan.

When our coupon book runs out I'll have to check with the dealer to see the cost of the above to know if it is a good deal to be able to have longer service coverage.

IMHO; it's just prepaid basic maintenance - You just need to watch out for the up-sell and non-OEM maintenance they usually "find" during these services. It's a great budgeting tool and your locking-in all basic maintenance prices for the term; but you'll have to avoid the up-sell; and what's not covered in that package (ie. air, cabin, traction pack filters?).

I do all that basic stuff myself - so something like that isn't for me.

I absolutely agree about being leery about the "upsell" tactics, last visit they tried to upsell wiper blades replacement (among other things) and what they would charge for the wipers and "labor" to install was a whole lot more than me just doing it myself, so I ordered OEM compatible wipers from Amazon at a lot less cost and my labor charge is free !

Agreed; You should browse through your nearest dealership's website. I found my dealerships on-line storefront and they sell OEM Toyota parts at the same prices as those discounted Toyota parts sites. Chose pick-up/will-call to avoid shipping charges. Strange that they would refuse to honor/match those on-line prices. Asked their parts guy on my 3nd pickup, he just shrugs and say's that it somehow works out on paper, and I said, "ya; I wouldn't want you to go anywhere". He always gives me free oil plug washers when I buy filters from him on-line. I believe I paid less than $5 each for OEM oil filters last time around.
