I went after work to test drive and check out a C. I really did like it. I wish I could get one today! Looks like after all was said and done I was under the impression I could afford one right now, looks like thats not the case :(

Looks my Prius dreams are on hold for a pretty good while.

I went and talked to Jeremiah, you are right he is super helpful. Thanks for the recommendation. Will def work with him when/if the time comes I can afford it. We ran numbers, didnt do a full credit run but my credit is great. But after it was all said and done just don't think its going to happen for me. Just not monthly payments I can do right now.

    Darn, sad to hear.

Anything that you were trading in?
You you checked the 72mo financing?

Without a trade, yes it is high.
But $5k or so with down payment and or trade will seriously lower those mo payments.

Hey, anything is possible...just look further into your options.
Just remember, calculate your savings of fuel into your payment, might help.

You dont want to push your limit....

but there is possibilities of borrowing from a friend/family member to help.
Or even a 1 yr loan from bank for extra down payment.
Then the higher payment (the extra loan) would only be for first 6 months (friend/family) to a year. (bank)

If you understand numbers, then you know you cant afford the car.....
but if that was the case, you wouldnt be in this predicament.

Hope the best...just dont push it over your limits.

Glad Jeremiah was helpful! Did you tell him I sent you? Lol what rate did they give you? Originally they gave me 4.19% but I got on Penfed and got 1.99% so Toyota is trying to match it. Hate to see your dream slip away :(

Thats ok. I could afford it but I would be pushing my limit and I'm just not comfortable. Im young and somehow decent with my money so I know where I need to be. It was either a Prius or a Fit, looks like it might be time to call Honda :)

Sorry! I think it is good that you know what you can and can't do financially though. Maybe in a couple of months the demand will die down and some better deals will come through. In the meantime, hang around and chat with us :)

Honda Fit MPG Reports | Fuelly

I would so not want to get that mpg.

I even get a few dirty looks from Fit drivers.
I have a local guy that rides my rear and gets upset if I pass where he is pulling out from side street
and get in front of him.

Haha, I'd imagine he is jealous!

Good things come to those that wait.

oh, and did you factor in all?
With a loan you will need full coverage insurance....if you have it already..
then it may be lower with the C.
And if what you are driving now has repairs and service.
2 years free in all Toyota....so you dont have those bills.
Factor it in all....then check the numbers.

Thanks the info. Well right now I have no car payment at all. I have been putting money back the last few months for a new vehicle. Basically in order to get the c I would need a little over $8k down. So unless I wait likely a year plus it's not where I need it to be. So then that depends if my current vehicle lasts another year :)
