Salsa Red - Opt Package # 4 - Ordered 10/30/04 -San Jose, CA

Ordered from Steven Creek Toyota, they said is will take 4-6 months. *sigh*
Luckily I have a 1993 Ford Escort which is still working just fine, so I can wait.

Why did I go to them? They were the closest to home, and EVERYONE is claiming they can get it to me fastest, so I know that has no meaning. In fact the only friends who haven't waited forever got theirs at Fremont Ford, for what it is worth.

And they are located in San Jose City, which means that I can take advantage of the Parking thing - free Parking in City Lots with a special sticker.

Went to a Party that Saturday night and got to see FOUR friends new Prii. It was startling to know that there are that many already on the road. One has the Salsa Red, I must admit I love the exterior, just wish it came with the Grey interior.

Why Option Package 4? Because I don't have a bluetooth phone, or a garage door opener (or even a garage door), so all I would be getting for the bigger package is the Nav system. I'm not sure that is worth an extra $3000.

They didn't tell me where I am on the waiting list, just that it is long.

It should be noted that I tried to go through my Credit Union's Car Buying Program, but they say that none of their dealers are taking any more orders through them.

Now the wait begins.

It's HERE! It's HERE! Salsa Red - Opt Package # 4

Sitting in my drive way is a pretty burgundy red with ukeright: tan interior (the interior I like the grey). I only got the #4 option package (safety stuff).

So I waited 156 days. You bet I was counting. Or a little over 5 months.

But It's Mine All Mine (well, me and the bank). I wouldn't even let my husband drive it home.

But i did let him drive it around the block when we were checking it out at the dealership. I hope he doesn't decide he wants one. :mrgreen:

Keep going out and playing with the keyless entry.

And I've made it go stealth for a while on the trip home. Yes, I'm very proud of myself.

Still working on a name. Normally I just say "It's It's Red". All our other cars have been blue. But I'm sure something will come up.

Got the license plate today. I almost did a double take -

It almost looks like SMOG?01

And it got its first bath yesterday. It was covered in pollen, and looking like Red covered in Yellow <g>.

It still hasn't named itself yet.

Averaging about 44mpg, mostly because although I look at all the monitors and thngs, when I'm driving the car, I'm driving the car. Gets better mileage than the Escort so I'm a happy camper.
