SanFran Bay Area: where are some places that I can go to work on my car?

    I need to replace a front wheel hub tonight. I don't have a driveway or a garage so I expect to be somewhat cold and miserable.

    I've considered finding an alley behind some vacant buildings and hidden by dumpsters. Or, I could drive out into the country and find an out of the way spot.

    What do you suggest?

    Drive up to a business with a big parking lot, ask the owner if you can work on the car there (tell them it broke down)

    I’m out in Fairfield, so a bit of a haul from San Francisco proper;).

    During the week is usually bad for me (I just dropped 13 hours at work), but depending on the need, we could work something out:).

    Not the warmest or the best lit, but there is plenty of space at the Alemany Flea Market : 100 Alemany Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94110

    There is never anyone there at night, and if you park closer to the restrooms there shouldn't be any issues with the neighbors.
