Saving destinations on the fly

How do you save a destination if you just enter it on the fly? Let's say I find a fun place and I just want to save the destination once I get to the place. If I know ahead of time what the address is, I'll create a new one, but is it possible to save a destination, if you haven't gone through the formal, MY DESTINATIONS>SAVE? I'm frustrated that it's not more user friendly. FYI I have a 2013 prius.
