Saying Goodbye....For now

After 5 happy years with my 2005 Prius, tomorrow she goes to a lucky buyer. It's a sad day for me, but it's time.

To put this in context, I have NEVER kept a new car this long. 5 years. Wow. This was the most amazing car ever. In 5 hard years in the CA sun, I had only one problem: a stuck CD player.

This car saw the death of my father, took my mom many times to the boat dock to go to Catalina, hauled my 2 Italian Greyhounds everywhere. It's like losing a member of the family.

The next lucky owner gets a Prius that has been well cared for, with only 39K miles, still looking brand new.

Many thanks to the members of this website for all the advice. Had Toyota introduced a plug-in, I would have stayed. For now, though, my VW CC PZEV still gets great mileage and helps me pass the time until the next great Prius comes along.
