I will be storing my 2006 for a couple of weeks and would like to know if my Scangauge will draw any current during that time. The display goes off a couple of minutes after shutdown, but I don't know if it still draws current.

Why not just unplug it and you won't have to worry about a drain?

It draws a little current. Just unplug it and you'll be fine. It's pretty easy to start it up again. It remembers the settings (but not the mileage etc.).

My scangage turns itself on and off sometimes when the car is parked. The backlight lights up, but no data is diaplayed, since the power to the car is "off". I would unplug it if you don't plan to drive the car for a length of time.

Thanks to all. You are correct that the unit is supposed to remember its settings.

If I leave the SG (ScanGauge) cable plugged into the OBDII port but disconnect the SG unit from the SG cable, will it still result in any additional drain (however small) on the 12V battery when the car is off?
