This is my first time posting. Hope I do the right things! :)

I have a 2008 Prius and am considering buying a can of Scotchguard to apply to the seats. Has anyone done this - do you think it is necessary or helpful?

I have been enjoying reading the questions on the forums and have picked up a lot of useful info!!

    Thanks!

I did it when mine was new. It doesn't seem to have done any harm. Use a piece of paper to keep overspray from reaching plastic or glass surfaces.

The seats are factory treated. It won't hurt them to do it again, but it's not going to help much either.

I did my 05 when it was new. About a month later"a liquid from a young child" got spilt on the back seat. It blotted up very good and it didn't sink into the seat at all. I attributed the good result to the scothguard. A can of scothguard is cheap insurance for the seats.

Others have reported the same good results without the Scotchgard. The fabric is stain repellent.

I did my seats and fabric areas with Scotchguard when it was new, also put carpet type guard on all carpets. Haven't had to test it yet.

I bought seat covers which can be removed to clean. From what I heard, as mentioned before, the seats are easy to clean.
