I’m wondering if anyone has any idea what could be causing a noisy fan belt type sound coming from the engine area when accelerating at certain speeds(I know the Prius gen3 doesn’t have a belt).

I’ve searched around the forums and the closest thing I could find is potentially a coolant hose clamp rattling behind the engine may be causing this?

If anyone has dealt with this before I’d love to hear what was done to fix it.

I dont hear much from the video.

I just dont think you could hear a loose clamp while driving.

Only thing I can think of is a heat shield that is rattling.
    Or perhaps brake rotor shields.

All of your fluids look at ok levels and caps/dipsticks are there ?
Might as well check the hose clamps to be safe.

Yeah it's hard to hear in that video because I've got some winter tires on at the moment that make the overall sound in the car loud, but it's the high pitch sound in the background. I'll try to see if I can see a heat shield that's loose.

Is the prop rod for the hood secured in its place?

I had that happen once after dealer servicing:cool:.

But @dig4dirt 's suggestions above are other likely causes(y).
