We took a cab in Seattle and we were in a 3rd generation Prius. 708k+ hard miles. Not bad. I don't know if it was the original battery or not. But just the same, very impressive for any car.

Our '10's close to 100K kms. and 13 years on the road. Just extrapolating, it'd take 147 years for us to get to 708k miles. Likely more like 200~300 years, since our usage has dropped off so much over the years. Lower/right quadrant is ratio equation:

No I mean keep them on the road non-stop taxi cabs and delivery vehicles Prius seem to do really well and get piles of mileage with no problem My wife's 2010 is the perfect example of this It's the first year of the generation 3 solar roof JBL car $300,000 mi never missed a drop of coolant nothing 10,000 mi oil changes everything in the car works boringly well nothing All I ever done to this car when I bought it the hybrid battery was failing I bought one from a junkyard out of a 2015 low mileage car took out the battery dropped it in the solar roof thing and have done nothing else to the car driven for all of the delivery services throughout the years That's all she does with it so other than tires pretty much nothing else happens to the vehicle never has because it is on the road every stinking day like a taxi

In London, you get fined everyday for driving a vehicle older than 1998. There are cameras that reads license plates and send you the bill thru the mail. But following the government trend, it will be banned waaay before the next 146 years!
