I'm new to hybrids but plan to test-drive two Toyota-certified Prius Threes this week. One is a 2011 with about 60,000 miles and asking price of about 18,000. The other is a 2012 with 40,000 miles and an asking price of 21,000. Both have the solar roof package. The Carfax report says that the 2012 was in an accident, but also says there's no structural damage. Do these prices seem reasonable, given the mileage and history of the cars?

welcome to priuschat! yes, they seem very good. i think it's a wash, but if you have any doubts, go for the one without the accident. take each of them for a good long test drive without the salesman. reset a trip gauge and check the average mpg's at the end. also, check tread wear and evenness, and make sure all maint. and recalls have been done. and make sure you get two working fobs with 3 door sks! all the best.(y)

No Solar Roof. Why do you THINK you want/need a Solar Roof?

It's not a good time for buying a used Prius now. It looks to me the "Hybrid Premium" never gets depreciated over time, at around $4000 or so. My friend is looking for a 2010, and he found that many Gen III trim 2 with 150K miles still asking for $10500 or more. Come on!
