Came across an interesting site after growing tired of removing my antenna for car washes when away from home. The shark fin didn't appeal to me so I wanted an alternative.

    For anyone else interested:

Which antenna did you order Dave? It appears to me that unless you have one of the super short ones, you'll still have to remove it for the bath.

By the way, aren't car washes a bit tough on your Prius' finish? I avoid them like the plague, but then my Prius is black which makes it more vulnerable to potential "car-wash-caused" blemishes.

Regardless, it's an interesting web site. Thanks!

Good find. Have you ordered and installed one? If so, how's the reception? If not, please keep us posted.

I wonder how well the various colors in the "O" series match the OE colors.

Those look great and at $7.99 it is a good deal. Let us know how it works when you get it.

I bought one of these short antennas (about 4"). The reception is lousy, about as good as you can get with no antenna at all. I'll sell you mine for $5.00 if you still have to have one.

Re: Short "stubby" antenna -- long please

Anyone know of a site for LONG replacement antennas? My reception is lousy as it is with the stock antenna. I can't believe the concern for 'looks' when the resulting reception is worse. I drive from inside the car -- not outside...

I am going to order a couple. Inside the city it will give a good enough signal and if the antenna is stolen I will have a back-up When I travel between cities I can put on the long antenna.
