If I'm not mistaken the blue part pops off you can paint it touch it up make it different whatever and then pop it back on or you could send the whole mirror back absolutely Don't know if you'll find another like it and better shape necessarily so I don't know what to say I would keep it probably shoot it I have my buddy shoot that piece shoot both of them while I'm at it

Some auto recyclers offer grading on their used parts so you can tell in advance if it will need new paint etc. Did they offer a grade on this? was the part received not in line with the grade advertised?

Looks like a perfectly usable part to somebody planning to paint- so this might just be a misunderstanding.

You bought the cheapest one you could find, right? If the mirror part works well, the blue cover can be bought from Toyota for about $40, already painted to match. I think this was mentioned previously in another thread. What is your time worth? How long do you want to be working on this?

Just buy the cover from Toyota as suggested by TMR-JWAP in your other thread, you'll have to spend money buying chip paint for $20 or more, and touch it up or sending it back on your dime.

Or get a spray can of Black trim paint and spray the both mirror covers, also the black of the mirror has faded as well, spray the black part as well. Its not a show car anymore.

Not sure why you didn't buy this one, probably closer than SD.

That chipped paint is on a plastic part, right? Nothing bad will happen (mechanically or electrically) if you do not fix the paint. So why not just live with it? Or just fix it a little with a $5 (yes, it has been ages since I bought one) bottle of touch up paint and use that. It won't look great on close inspection, but people casually passing by won't notice anything.

I'm keeping the one and only paid $40 with shipping. Cannot beat that. A few marks but looks nice. It had a sticker over the mirror

I'm confused. Are you saying that the mirror in your original post did not have chipped paint? That it was a sticker that had been placed over the mirror, but the edges looked like chipped paint?

Haha, can also get trim black spray and touch up the weathered black arm.

Yes it was a sticker that made it look like it was chipped and they gave me $25 off of the mirror because of it.

So they put a sticker over the mirror to protect it, you thought it was chipped and complained to them about it. They refunded you $25, thinking that it was chipped, and you walk away happy because you realized it really wasn't chipped? Is that the scoop?
