SMART BACK DOOR Setting

    There is a selection in the Customized Body Electronics System sheet that I have a question about.

    The setting is SMART BACK DOOR (last one listed)
    “Function to open a back door when the key is detected inside the back door.
    Default is LONG
    Options are LONG / TWICE / OFF/LONG
    What does this setting do?

    That's to warn you that you left the fob in the cargo area. Not only will it warn you, but it won't lock either. You may have been thrown off by the 'trunk' settings in the version you came across, which actually aren't in the repair manual. The one Evan posted was from the New Car Features, which has a few mistakes in it, mainly because it was created before the final version of the Prius was actually shipped.

    so what does the long, twice, off/long mean?

    That refers to the warning sound you get. You can have one long beep, two beeps, etc.

    the /long means long is the factory default.
