Smart key Retrofit

    Is it possible to have this done at the dealers? It's a option I REALLY would love.

    Anything is possible. The chances of getting a dealer to do it is VERY small though. I'm sure that I could possibly do it as well as some of the more electronically inclined people here. Here is a small breakdown of the parts needed:
    Both front door handles with buttons
    Rear valance panel with button
    All the fob sensors (hatch area, front doors, center console)
    Smart Key computer
    Smart Key fobs
    Wiring harnesse(s) for all the items above.

    I would only attempt this if I had access to a parts car that had the Smart Key fobs. The retail prices for the above parts would be thousands and thousands of dollars.

    A few people have looked into this. I think the main problem is that, in addition to the SKS components, it also requires a different immobilizer ECU, which then requires additional programming to work with the engine and HV ECUs. So, cost of new is many, many thousands of dollars. Steve at Autobeyours.com, a Gen II Prius salvage/rebuild operation, suggested an aftermarket product from Korea, but I don't know that anyone has tried it yet. It is called keyless go, from ¢Æ¢Æ æ4¼¼´ë ·¹Ã÷Ä« Å°·¹½º°í ½º¸¶Æ®Å° ½Ã½ºÅÛ ¢Æ¢Æ.
