Why is it so obvious that this is photoshopped or Painted?

I have to wonder if it's designed to be an indicator that you are charging the battery versus putting all power to the wheels. It's just a question whether the green/white bar resizes left-to-right or whether it swings from side to side.

In my head, I sort of envision a bar in flux indicating in which mode of operation you are. In the image provided, I would tend to think that this is akin to pulsing where you are accelerating with some power while also running power to the battery.

Also, keep in mind that we highly suspect that the 2010 has night vision. For this to work similar to the Crown Hybrid, the LCD dashboard will need to change displays. Perhaps this is a different representation of the [Power] screen designed to take less space when night vision is activated and occupying a very large portion of the display.

PWR - Is it the bar to show the battery power usage before the gas engine kick in?

CHG - Is it to show the regen brake amount before the brake pads kick in?

I thought under the ECO icon, there would be MPH. With this CHG/PWR bars, it looks like there is less room for the MPH now.

As long as the left side of that tells me how much I'm regenerating via braking, I'm happy.

Ack. That's ugly. I can only assume the "nice graphics" comment was sarcastic?

This somewhat is reminiscent of the ECO and PWR buttons in sneak peek #9.

this tells me.. that the Welcome to prius screen... is a separate screen ( as i've seen in photos... kinda like your engine icon lights are all up front... that's where this might be placed.. that's a pic of an lcd screen.

anyone see how the rx400h has the mini screen up font? i think the camry does too... as do other lexus hybrids... but wait... it's color?.. choppy as if it is photoshop.. but still... i'm trying to be hopeful for once

    My thoughts are
This shows power delivery from battery and ICE.
Green is electric (battery) and white is ICE, giving a total power output by combining both.
when in over-run or braking the charge end of the graphic is animated, when under hard acceleration the power end of the graphic is animated. The power area is locked out when in ECONOMY mode restricting engine power output.
On the far left is the battery charge level. Only 8 bars not 10. Must be a smaller battery than the iconic NHW20. :p

There is my guess, I guess we will know more in a couple of weeks.

    Another way I am interpreting:

Say, the gas engine is 1.8L and makes 100 hp peak power. In the sneak peek above, only about 40hp is being generated, say @2,000 RPM. The white bar is less than half empty, at the PWR side.

At the CHG side, the green bar is full. This means, the battery is being recharged from the gas engine. If the battery can take 30hp, the remaining 10hp must be going to the wheels.

I don't see where it is from.... It doesn't "fit" anywhere.
The screen on top of the dash is too blueish to have this colors...

The suposed HUD picture (sneak peek #6) seems to be monochrome, not color.

Are we sure these sneak peeks are real? Maybe someone with lots of imagination is posting these pictures and laughing out loud!
Ofcourse there are some pics that look real and can be found in the video, but some others are very strange....

well, as cycledrum says, in less than 2 weeks we'll have the answer! 12 days, 21 hrs, 57 mins, and some seconds to be exactly :D

great, an indicator ala SCANGAUGE letting one know how hard they can accelerate without kicking in motor, batteries and converter all at same time.

to me (anyways, then again, i do live in my own world FREQUENTLY)

    CHG: regen
    green: all batteries
    white: motor
    black: batteries and motor
    PWR: batteries, motor, converter

I am in agreement with this. The pic is also showing that the car is in Economy Mode, hence the "ECO" at the top of the pic. I bet that lamp changes depending on what mode you're driving in.

There's already a battery meter in the car diagram on the HUD. I don't think it makes sense to have this new graphic up there, too, unless there's a way to toggle between that and this new graphic.
