Is that a DRL I see on the top left?

So what's the bright one on the right? Assuming the larger is the 'main' headlamp--and an HID?

Aw man, the new Prius gets projectors? Seems thats the new way for Toyota though, our 07 base Camry has it and the 08 tC's have them too. They aren't HIDs but they're brighter than the regular type

Maybe they will make the projector aimable similar to the Lexus.

That top light is a bring-back of what the Classic had.

As for the projector-beams, I added those to my '84 Omni long ago. The highly focused output made you think. No more stray illumination above the useful viewing area.

    Interesting.

Somebody that's decent with graphics needs to pull this shot and label the parts and their jobs.

Sorry to trash the party this way, but this photo is bogus.

Just look at it and look at the one we have from previous posts here: priuschat.com/sites/default/files/images/2010_prius_4.jpg.

    Definitely not the same headlight!

well.. when you bring light to [IMG]

i take note of the sensors above the lights.. so maybe that's a sneak of the higher end model.. and this new night shot is the base model?

Hooboy, I hope they're not going to DRLs. I *hate* DRLs. If
the '10 has DRLS one of the first hacks that will be needed is
    how to disable them.

Well, the photos we have seen before have been from the prototype - the photos that Prius Team is sharing are official photos from the production vehicle. Also, the photos that were leaked were probably of a JDM-based Prius.

the turn signal is above the low beam. that side light is just a marker. it may illuminate the area when the casing lights up above it.. but i doubt it.

so.. for the DRL... is that one of those low watt halogens or a few LEDs?

What do you mean with "JDM-based" Prius Danny?

The spy shots clearly show 3 ring optics on the bottom of the glass.

The "Prius Team" photo shows 2 clear divisions inside the headlight, and no round shape whatsoever, except for the right end projector.

    Am I missing something?

My bet is the projector one is LED low beam headlight and the inner one is HID high beam.

I don't know but this #8 photo just doesnt fit... If you look at the headlights in al the spy photos we've seen, from bossdowners to spy photos of masked cars in testing, they all seem to have the same headlights which are different than today's picture #8. So maybe this is the headlight for a higher or lower end model or maybe different countries will get different headlights this time around?

Here's a pic of the headlights found on a test car shown on road and track's website. Decent close up of the drivers side headlight and you can see it matches the headlights as shown in bossdowners leaked photos.

I converted the image to 16:9 ratio again. I believe what we are seeing is the halogen version of the headlamp while the other pic has the premium twin LED headlamp.
