I hope this is the right spot to post this, if not please move.

Came across this video today. It's so far off it's not even funny.
Have a watch, I'm sure you'll all laugh as well:

What are you talking about? I get all my information from a guy sitting on a John Deere tractor.

Seriously: I hated that I bumped his view count just to personally experience his ignorance.

    lol.. no kidding

    1. "regenerative braking need to be made" He has no idea how it works.

    2. "Lithium ion battery doesn't like the cold" (neither does a regular engine)

    3. People hated hybrids b/c they had puny power output. Now they hate it because it produces more?

    4. "...which backyard guys like me have no training or experience with" soo.. he doesn't want to learn? The smart mechanic would get the training to lure owners

    5. Clean diesel achieves ULEV-II or Tier 2 Bin 5... about the same as any other vehicle.

    6. By his logic, anyone driving in the city shouldn't buy a regular car. All regular cars get worse mileage in the city.. so you should consider how you drive and thus if you do a lot of city driving, you shouldn't buy a regular car.

I think VW paid for that blog? What is the cost of a injector pump? Probably as much if not more than a pack for my Prius? H

    That guy's a genius isn't he. :p

I'm going into the Toyota service department on Monday and telling them that I need my regenerative brakes changed. ;)

Just did a build on a VW Golf TDI with DSG/auto, 4-door, nothing else ... $24,535

Even the 2011 Prius Two is about $23,800 MSRP, so, in fact, the Prius is less than the TDI. Ok, he did say spend more and get a diesel.

Did he pull the 7 to $10k battery figure out of his you know what?

Good luck putting a couple or three suitcases behind the Golf passenger seats.

Yeah, yeah, the TDI has more low end torque and carves corners better.

I can just see all the cab companies running down to get a TDI now. That'll happen. :p

Want the 80's look? Buy a Golf!

All that said, I would hope that for someone who drives only 6 or 8k miles per year, don't end up getting something like 10 less MPG's after 8 years Prius ownership, due to battery degradation. That would stink.
