Toyota's third-generation Prius, due at dealerships this spring, will have an optional solar panel on its roof. The panel will power a ventilation system that can cool the car without help from the engine, Toyota says.

AFAIK the keyfob can remotely start the A/C system (including compressor), not just the fan. Overall, a decent piece of news coverage by CNN, but still guilty of technical inaccuracies. I've seen other recent examples of news articles about the G3 Prius with technical misunderstandings, most notably about the solar cooling. A different article I read stated that the moonroof and windows would be controllable by the remote (and not the A/C).
