I have a suggestion, which will 1) Keep us from having pages and pages to read and 2) help reduce the space taken up on the server by all the posts.

#1 is my real reason for posting this, #2 is just a by product.

Anyway, I've noticed in a lot of posts that there are many replies saying the exact same thing. I think many times, it's simply because people are too lazy to read more than just the original post, so they read the first post and hit reply right away. While I do think it's nice to get some clarification sometimes from more than one source, this can often be done and you can usually add a bit more as well.

This will make it much easier for those reading the full responses to not have so many duplicate responses to read. Call me crazy, but I like to read the full posts and I waste so much time sometimes reading the same stuff over and over.

    Agree 100%...

    Oops... I just did it, didn't i? :D.
I think this is smart. The server has been hammered these past few months. Gets really slow sometimes.

Yes  , but this is probably an example of a situation where seeing many of the same answer helps to prove a point.

I must say, I was surprised after reading the "smoke and mirrors" topic that there were very few duplicates. And it was STILL 5 pages.. took me a good 15-20 minutes to read it all

Man... I hate to say it, but that guy on that other thread is a (pardon my french) douche.

We really just should stop... we outclass him in many ways.

I think PC membership could jump 50% in the next year, and it'll only get worse.
    But point well taken.

I disagree. Well, at least on one level. Although I AGREE on the concept, in practicality it shouldn't fly. First off, you can't please everyone. Secondly, and more importanly, sometimes, multiple posts by different people can easily express a trend, or "hey, Jack06, I didn't know you also had that problem too, what did you do to get rid of it?".

Hey, I AGREE with MS. Yes, I read all the posts. Trends are important. Having validation by many is important. In FHOP, I like the various ways people restate the same answer.

I will agree, when it comes to technical questions, there are only so many ways to answer "How do I turn off my reverse beep".

Of course, MS WOULD say this because he is the MASTER of the quick  post!

    ;-)

Keep up the posts. My pet peeve is quoting ALL the post when the person only wants to reply to one sentence!!!!

    ROCK ON!

QUICK EDIT- WHO is going to be the "keeper" of the etiquette, hmmmm!

Why, Emily Post, of course. (I wish I'd thought of that, but "Emily Postnews" first appeared around 1989...)

Actually, I’m now going to change my vote.

My vote is now for [you].

(How is that for etiquette? )

    Got the memo.
I was going for the topic hijacking angle of causing newbies to ask, “what is [YOU]?†

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I really don't have the time to monitor all of the posts. Actually, I'm pretty busy at all of the other boards who have this feature turned on, screwing around with newbies there.

PriusChat was so much more exciting when Danny had me turned on. ;)

(Just in case Danny decides to turn me on in the future: [you] should be banned from posting because they are the one with terrible etiquette.)

I agree, though, we have seen a lot of the same replies posted over and over in the same thread.
