When I installed my HybridAutomotive battery harness I took that opportunity to install some soundproofing in the trunk well. Its pretty noisey back there as that area resonates.

I bought this stuff on eBay. Its peel and stick and pretty thick. Comes in different thickness. This is 3ml. Very easy to install just cut the pattern out with scissors and slap it on. Its stayed on pretty good for a few weeks now.
Its much quieter back there now.

On your last picture, looks like you did the tonneau cover. Rolling up easily?

    Howdy-
No the Tonneau cover is untouched. I just got a piece of the rigid insulation foam 4x8 sheets you can buy at Home Depot and cut out a piece to fit right on top of the extended cover and covered it in foil.
I used an old Heat Shield window shade. It is not attached but just sits on the tonneau Just sits right there when I drive not attached to anything. Keeps the Florida hide ripping sun off the back battery area. Works very well. Easy to remove.

Its pretty loud back in the tire well all that sheet metal is kinda harmonic. This really helped.
I think I bought 20 sq feet of the 50 mil. There's some cutting waste.

Looks like it will do a great job at cutting down noise. My only concern would be water getting underneath it.

if you have water back there, you have even bigger concerns than that.

Yes if I had a water issue back there I maybe would not have done it but its been pretty solid except when I used an aftermarket rear light assy
after I got hit in the back from eBay that leaked. I found that and sealed it and its been ok back there. I have been lucky so many people have had the cracked seam in the upper hatch area. I am very careful when I close the rear hatch and leave a front door open to evacuate the air. I know there's side vents in the well but I open a door anyway. Slamming that rear hatch has to exacerbate the cracked seam so many posters report. That and I would imagine hyper inflating the tires doesn't help the chassis. The car already hits pretty hard. I keep my tires at 36 psi all the way around to help the ride. Have new struts all the way around too.

This simple cut and stick stuff works good it has stayed on where applied. Its much quieter back there with a minimal investment in $$ and time.
