    I never understood how laser confinement would work in a fusion power plant BUT as a research tool, it is perfect. In effect a series of snapshots of the fundamental physics. In contrast, the magnetic confinement reactors are a smear of all fusion states.

    It'd be cool to tell people you worked at the "National Ignition Facility." I'm bet all the firefighters & closet pyromaniacs would think you're the most interesting person at the party?
