Guys..I drive a Prius 1998 make MK1. I just have clocked 100,000 kms. I think I should change my spark plugs. Now according to the service manual these are the spark plug types:

    DENSO SK16R11
    NGK IFR5A11 (Iridium Type)

Now both of these types are not available in New Zealand. Did any of you have used any alternative type of spark plugs? Please let me know. Also is there any justification in buying Iridium or platinum type spark plugs? They seem to be quite expensive.

    Many thanks

I would rec. using the NGK IFR5A11 (Iridium Type) eveytime I get a misfire code it's because the wrong spark plugs are used. The savings are not worth the trouble it can also take out the coils if you use the wrong plugs. You will get another 100,000 with no problems.
