    Hi all
    Need some help please.
2010 prius. Original wheel bearing osr went as it was noisy.
Picked up a fair priced bearing on ebay, it lasted about 3 months and put dash lights on!!! The integrated speed sensor failed, so got another one and now 2 months later same issues. It is intermittent.

I changed speed sensor wiring last time so thats new.

Does anyone know how to test these sensors. I saw in youtube about using ohm setting on multimeter, i dont get anything either side and neither volts when spinning. I am teating them at the connections in the boot.
Techstream always gives code for osr speed sensor.

What can i do to rule out actual sensor. I have noticed normally when you turn car off you hear that pluck sound after a minute or so, well if the abs lights are on it wont make that sound.

So I have a multimeter, in fact i have 3 used bearings and only 1 gives me an ohm reading. Does anyone know where exactly the wiring goes from the back of the car to.

    Thanks

    Ebay is the problem.
Very often "specialized" parts that are unique to certain models are NOT available anyplace but the dealership.......IF you want them to work right and last very long.
Your experience is just another chapter in that LONG "book".

A friend of mine had a sensor in the bumper of his Ford go bad.
He found one on Ebay for about 20% of what Ford wanted for the part.
(I tried to tell him that was too good to be true.)
First one didn't work at all.
    Second one lasted 2 days.
It takes 2 people more than an hour to get to the thing and replace it.
Third time he got one from Ford.
It is still working close to a year later.

    Penny wise and pound foolish.

You're sure you have the correct speed sensor location, right (not the other side, front/back, etc)?

The NSK (OEM) rear hub assemblies are just over $100 at Rock Auto. (SKF sells the same hub in their box for $140).
