Just purchased a new 2012 Prius 3 w/solar sunroof for $25488 excluding tax - super excited. I'm coming from a 2006 Jetta TDI that I just sold with 300k miles and averaged 43-46mpg. I'm hoping to see similar results from the prius.

This is my first post and wanted to get some feedback for those using spider spike compact C3 or spider sport snow chains. I live in Reno but work in South Lake Tahoe and also commute through Truckee nearly weekly.

I've already purchased a set of used 2011 prius alloys and installed a set of continental extreme winter contact DWS snow tires.

I will most likely need to use the chains on a frequent basis because CHP sets up checkpoints to make sure you are using your chains, so I want something really easy to install and take off.

Again, I'd like feedback from anyone using spider spike snow chains.

Welcome aboard! Sounds like a great deal. Use studded snow tires up here... no need for chains. Enjoy!
