I'm not sure the right term for this, but the paint on my rear (plastic) IMG_0801.jpeg spoiler is 'bleached' in certain areas, and I can even feel a roughness to its surface. I tried rubbing compound and the pink degreaser; they both made the problem area less obvious, but it's still there. Is there anything I can do to restore the finish to this area short of repainting it?

Looks like deteriorating clear coat. Possibly UV, possibly thin initial clear coat paint coverage. There have been a few reports of such in the first few years of ownership, with one or two reporting their dealers making some level of accommodation. At this point, ten years in, your options are limited; compounding down and resealing with clear, or living with it.

you can always wrap it in a carbon fiber wrap . . . . not my personal choice, but many seem to love it.

Take it off and take it to be painted for less than $200

Some great ideas thanks! I may try the "take it off and paint it myself" route. If I do I'll post pictures.

Should be a few bolts holding it on. I switched out my wing on my Prius C once to a JDM version and it was not hard at all.

I have a 2013 Red Prius V, and I notice that mine is fading too. I am afraid that automotive painting might be beyond my wheel house though. I do need to get some body work done on the car soon though, so maybe I can get fixed then.

Big Spoilers. The bigger they are - on mediocre cars, the longer until the driver finishes puberty

I have a Barcelona Red prius V, and the rear spoiler on my car is faded as well. I am certainly mechanically inclined enough to remove/replace it with a pre-painted unit, or take it to a body shop to have it reshot, but from what I understand of some of the parts diagrams, there is an asterisk that suggests that some of the components related to its installation may be a one-time use thing, and that is my question.

Proper decals, aggressively applied, will meaningfully improve RWHP (or FWHP, if so inclined).

I too have a Barcelona Red Prius v (2013). Until this thread appeared, I had not noticed the fading on the spoiler.
