What cool things have you seen on the road lately?

I'm in Los Angeles for some work and it involves freeway commutes. I really enjoy looking out for cool cars when I'm here.

This has given me opportunity to see a new Toyota Crown out on the road the other day. The way the Toyota emblem is presented on the back is very elegant, just a cool detail that stands out in traffic.

Today on the 101 I saw a Mirai which appeared to be leaking water, or possibly coolant. Not sure what they've got in there, but they can't have much of it left.

Yesterday my buddies and I were driving out of lunch and we saw Jay Leno in what I believe was a late 20s Cadillac, cruising through Burbank.

Timely thread. This morning I noticed a second gen Honda Civic hybrid, rolling by, and hot on it's heels: a second gen Honda Insight. They weren't convoying either, one turned at the light and the other went through.

Jay's bounced back; he had a serious mishap lately?

saw jay on tv. 'fixed', but different. probably doesn't stand out in the land of plastic surgery though.
    he was lucky.

Gen5 Prius was the recent stand out.
There is a semi regular Maserati Ghibli on my commute. Not as common is a DeLorean.

It is, but this thing was dropping at least a half gallon per mile. So I think it was probably more than the fuel cell would account for, but hard to say.

Depending on the generation, a Mirai will produce about a liter of water every 60 to 80 miles. The gen1 had a feature where it would 'dispense' the water. So it collects the waste water. The one you saw was probably dumping that collection container.

Hello all. Yes, I see quite a few cars daily. 5 to 6 days a week there are some type of car shows going on somewhere. I am lucky Leadfoot to witness this living in So Cal. From the Inland Empire to Ventura, Orange County and San Diego and everywhere in between, you will see huge groups of custom cars on their way to a car show somewhere. Also, you will see motorcycle clubs on the weekends. Fourth of July weekend you will see it all, including custom airplane shows.

They have been citing loud and modified vehicle exhaust in Huntington Beach and other coastal cities. Those supercars and motorcycles make a lot of noise and a few weeks ago a Maserati was pulled over along Beach Blvd and then a Ferrari went by so fast I was going to chase it with my Prius!:p

I’ve seen 3 different Rivian R1 trucks in our area. Also a green Lamborghini parked at the bank all the time (must work in the area)
A Range Rover 2023 Autobiography custom painted and a well kept Black Fiero! I nearly fainted.. Haven’t seen one of those in years even in a junkyard!

I've seen a lot of Rivian R1 trucks as well. I thought they were on the brink of extinction or something like that. I also live down the street and around the corner from a Chevy parts place. Every Saturday morning you can see really cool trucks and cars from the 60's and 70's there to buy parts.

Talked to a guy with a Bentley yesterday, had seen it at this parking spot a few times before. He said when he bought it was around $350K CDN, and current new ones are around $500K.
