    Hello

I'll admit this is a bit of a strange post/question .... I bought a 2005 Prius a three months ago and like the vehicle. However, when I get out of the car and touch the door to close it, I sometimes get a static shock similar to when you rub you feet on a shag carpet. Is that 'normal'? Not that its so annoying but is there anything I can do so I dont get the shock ?

    This not unique to Prius.
Spray antistatic stuff on the seat.
Grab the door frame as you get out so that you continuously discharge yourself.
When buying gas, Do Not start the pump and get back into the car.

Another option is to let your wife get out first. ;)

There are also grounding straps you can buy. They drag on the ground and discharge the static electricity buildup.

These help with static build-up from the motion of the car, but not with static from sliding across the seat.
