Steering wheel-No lights

    '09 Package 2. Pulled the factory radio and installed my Pioneer AVIC GPS-DVD etc. from my previous car. No real problems with the install. Used the 68 ohm resistor for the climate control. Works fine.
    EXCEPT.......no illumination on the steering wheel. I don't expect the audio buttons to work but..I would like the heater A/C to be illuminated at night. Wonder how this can be corrected???

    The buttons on the steering wheel are illuminated, only very dim. In fact you probably can't see them unless on a dark road when driving. There is no way to change the brightness.

    I believe the OP is saying a side-effect of his mods killed steering illumination. I'd suggest downloading wiring diagrams from techinfo.toyota.com to see if there was a dependency on lighting. ($10/day)
