Stereo/Rear Camera/Nav System doesn’t work after new 12v battery Installed

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time posting. I have a 2011 Prius IV. My 12v battery died. I got a jump start and drove it to the dealership. They installed a new battery. On the way home the stereo and rear camera didn’t work and the navigation display said to insert a map dvd. I never used the navigation system. I took the Prius back to the dealer and told them what was going on.

After looking at the car they said they tried to get the unit reprogrammed and that they were unable to reprogram it. They said the unit doesn’t work anymore and the unit needed to be replaced. The new Toyota stereo/navigation unit is thousands of dollars to replace.

The stereo/rear camera was working fine before the new battery was installed. Has this happened to anyone immediately after getting a new 12v battery installed?

Any advice is very much appreciated.
