Stopping the auto added link in quotes

    If you just cut and paste for quotes, instead of hitting reply to a person's post, a link to the post or thread is automatically added during the paste. I swear there was once a selection in preferences to stop it, because I had briefly stopped it for less than a day.

    Is it possible to stop the auto linking behaviour?
