stud welder gun

    i read all the posts on welding on a prius and see that disconnecting hybrid connections as well as 12v battery is recommende my question is the stud welding gun is only used for about 1 second do i still need to do this disconnect and are electric safe gloves really needed to move the plastic lever on battery.
