    Guys,

Just got a new 08 Prius. I want to install a 800w amplifier for my Alpine type R 12" subwoofer. It has a 2F cap in series with the amp. So my question is: can the 12v battery handel the extra power drain? will the car's DC to DC converter be able to handle recharging the 12V battery more than its used to (or probably designed for). Let me know your thoughts. Thanks

    WES

You'll be fine. Even if the amp is 800 watts continuous. ;)

you will be fine. Mine is a 600 W amp and I haven't noticed any ill effects. My only advice would be to only drive it while in Ready mode though.

You won't need the caps. The Prius power system is more than sufficient to supply constant power to the amp.
