19 US soldiers killed in Iraq

Washington, Jan 21 At least 19 United States soldiers were killed in Iraq in one of the deadliest days since the 2003 United States-led invasion, the US military said. A helicopter crash near Baghdad on Saturday killed 13, while five soldiers died in a militia attack on a security centre in Karbala. Another soldier died in a roadside bomb attack in northern Iraq, while two soldiers, including a marine, were killed on Friday in separate attacks in al-Anbar and Ninewah province.

 

Drat, by the title of the thread I was hoping we were all wrong and it was ACTUALLY working. Bless our soldiers, the innocent Iraqis, and damn the war mongers who think the lives of our soldiers are so unimportant.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House scorned an Iraqi leader's suggestion that President Bush and Saddam Hussein could resolve their differences in a duel, calling it an "irresponsible statement" that did not justify a "serious response."
