My question to those who can regularly pull 60MPG average per tankful: do you use synthetic engine oil ? To rephrase, is there anyone here who uses dino oil and still can manage 60MPG on a tank (or bladder :D ) in the summer.

I do use synthetic, but have also used mineral and don't feel it makes any difference.:nerd:

I'm getting 56mpg now, and am sure I'll get 60 by summer. I use "dino" oil.

I do know that sync oil significantly reduces wear on interior moving part of the ICE. I know this from prior experience with another vehicle. Sync seems to usually have better viscosity and maintain that viscosity longer.

Is it necessary to achieve 60 mph? Absolutely not. :D

I don't notice any difference between dino and synthetic when I drive (Drove a friend's prius before I got mine, managed to get 65mpg when he puts dino in his tank, but that was during the summer). Good mileage is all about the weather.
