Just wondering if anyone knows how to reset the default maintenance reminder. We want the reminder to be set at 10,000 miles and not sure how to do this. We have the 2012 Prius and are using synthetic oil.

Can't be done. Maintenance reminder is not just for oil. It's for tire rotations and inspections as well every 5.

There is a simple way to reset the reminder every 5,000 miles (if you are doing your own maintenance) but there is no known way to alter the length of the count down.

(You are showing a 2005 prius and asking about a 2012, so I am confused, but here is the procedure for a 2012, page 403)

Just reset it (as per owner's manual), reset it a second time when it goes on 5000 miles later, and it will go on again 10,000 miles after the first reset. That might be more bother than what you're asking for, but not much.

Just think of the non-oil change 5K interval reminder as a safety inspection. (y)

Isn't the first item in the US schedule, every 5000 miles, the driver's floor mat security check? The Canadian schedule doesn't say anything on the subject, we live dangerously up here.
