    It's got a drive owners nuts when they see they missed a few thousand savings have they waited just a little bit longer. Good thing is, that price cut forces used prices down for those in that market.

    Tesla owners aren't used to that already?

    going from $57,000 MSRP - down to $13,000 & a $15,000 free fueling card kicked in to boot, is not the same depreciation that Tesla has. Seems the lowest used Model S, 5 years old on eBay completed listings (not counting salvaged titles) is still around $40,000

    Ah! But the rebates from State and Fed does lower that $59k price tag along with free gas of $15k or 3 years and don’t forget 0% interest for 60 months. Sounds like a better deal to me.

    $100k Model S after 5 years going for $40k hmmm that’s a $60k loss. Sounds kinda like a hard hit to me. Plus are you getting a warranty for $40k?

    2015 Model S's were priced in the $76k to $86k range. The Lexus LS, with similar MSRP, has a depreciation rate close to that of the S. If we ignore the various incentives the Tesla got new.

    If someone can afford a Model S then I doubt they are concerned about a couple thousand dollars.

    Doesn't this happen with all brands when new incentives and sales happen after the car is bought?

    Until then, just to edge out the only thing resembling competition. It’s a reaction to Lucid Motors announcing that the base version of its Air sedan will cost $69,900 (after $7,500 US federal tax credit).

    Tesla has plenty of profit margins to cut into. At first glance this might seem silly as the Air won't be available until 2022. But consumers on the fence about getting an S in the next year or two or considering and holding out for an Air could be swayed.

    this just came out;

    Now there’s a cheaper, single-motor version of the Lucid Air EV | Ars Technica

    a so so charging infrastructure
    non existent car
    sedans are much less in vogue now.

    as the farmer says ... that's a tough row to hoe.

    Yet Tesla’s lineup is 50% sedans and they’re selling well. Proving a well designed and desirable car can be sold even if it’s a RWD sedan.

    good point. It will be interesting to see how that plays out once their pickup truck hits the market. Maybe the Tesla sedan has more to do with ITS particular features only being available in a sedan, as opposed to how it compares to sedans available from other manufacturers.
